The Promo Industry Needs to Change!
We recently attended the bpma Annual Conference in London, where we actually picked up an award, but more on that later!
During the conference the results of a bpma-commissioned mystery shopper survey were revealed, and shocked many of those present. The study essentially told the tale that many promotional merchandise companies
"do not proactively engage with customers, question them, understand them and take the time to offer alternatives. There is a gap between the want and need for creativity from marketers and the response from distributors. The survey found that 72% of marketers have been unhappy with promotional merchandise they had purchased and their providers".
To be honest this came as no surprise to us at Corporate Creations! During our first year it has shocked us just how impersonal and unhelpful so many promo companies are. The common practice of selecting what you want from a catalogue has to change when 72% of customers are left unhappy!
